It expanded the cast and the world; press tracked its climb, with GameSpot noting it passed 100 million YouTube views in under a week and GamesRadar logging tens of millions of views in the first hours.

Trailer 1: the 24-hour non-music record
Trailer 1 set the record for the most-viewed non-music video on YouTube in its first 24 hours. The exact number depends on who you cite, so we give both: Guinness World Records certified 90,421,491 views “as of 5 December 2023” (news write-up here), while YouTube’s official blog stated “over 93 million views in 24 hours … the new views record for 24-hour debut of a non-music video.” Both figures come from the certifying bodies, not from Rockstar. The previous record holder it surpassed was MrBeast’s “Every Country On Earth Fights for $250,000” (about 59.4 million views in 24 hours, posted August 2023), as reported by Variety. Forbes separately logged the trailer becoming YouTube’s most-viewed trailer launch ever.
Trailer 2: “biggest video launch of all time” — read the fine print
For Trailer 2, Rockstar publicly called it “the biggest video launch of all time,” citing 475 million-plus views across all platforms in the first 24 hours, as reported by VGC. That is a genuine company statement — but it is a self-reported, cross-platform figure, not an independently audited YouTube record like Trailer 1’s. The YouTube-only first-24-hour count was reported at roughly 83.6 million (Gamerant, Dexerto). So: treat “475 million” as Rockstar’s own all-platforms marketing number, and don’t repeat it as a certified YouTube record — because it isn’t one.
The Trailer 3 watch (speculation, clearly labeled)
There is no Trailer 3. Everything about its timing is projection.
The window games press most often floats is late July / early August 2026, reasoned from Rockstar’s past trailer cadence and marketing beats such as a Take-Two earnings call; some earlier rumors pointed at June 25. While fans wait, fake “Trailer 3” and “final trailer” videos circulate on YouTube — often AI-assisted fan edits from channels such as “Teaser Universe” — and platform recommendations have surfaced them as if real. At least one fake was pushed to fans via a Google notification, and others have gone viral despite being fabricated, as Gamerant documented.
The reliable tell never changes: check the uploader. A real Rockstar trailer is on the official @RockstarGames channel. If the video is on any other channel — no matter how polished the title, thumbnail, or footage — it is not an official trailer.
